Biography H. William (Bill) Ball started Ball Technical Services in the fall of 2003 after a successful 15 years of work with the core staff of the Kingston Office of McCormick Rankin Corporation (MRC). A senior civil technologist with diverse experience in site investigation, project supervision and CADD, William has a particular emphasis in the area of historic heritage buildings and structures. During his 15 years prior to starting Ball Technical Services William was fortunate to be involved with multiple rehabilitation projects for the former Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton, The Department of National Defence, Public Works Government Services Canada, Parks Canada, local Municipalities and a host of non-governmental clients. Since starting his own sole proprietor company William has continued working for the same clients in collaboration with several leading firms in the field of restoration and conservation of historically significant structures. William’s primary focus has been the restoration of historic masonry structures, typically covering the entire building envelope. Working with the Owner, Designers, Contractors, and other Heritage Professionals, a complete service of evaluation, heritage recording, preparation of contract documents and drawings, field inspection and supervision are provided. In the restoration and conservation field it is not unusual to have exposed site conditions change the course of a project. William’s ability to adapt to a given situation is one of his key assets. His years of experience have taught him to expect the unexpected and never stop learning from the information in front of him
