Biography Sharon Vattay has extensive research, writing, and lecturing skills in the field of Canadian architectural history and historic conservation. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. from McMaster University, Hamilton. Academic and archival research has been undertaken for purposes of publication, public outreach, as well as for developing conservation strategies and heritage property assessments. Projects and archival assignments include research and analysis undertaken for various levels of government: for municipalities (Cultural Heritage Assessments, Conservation Plans); for the Ontario Heritage Trust (Provincial Plaquing Program); for the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office (FHBRO); and for the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada (HSMBC). As Principal at GBCA, Sharon manages the preparation of heritage documentation (Heritage Impact Assessments, Conservation Plans, Feasibility Studies and Condition Reviews) for projects throughout the province. Sharon also teaches at the University of Victoria's Cultural Resource Management Program.
