Ryan Elliott

Biography Ryan grew up in a rural hamlet in south western Ontario that was established in the early 19th century and still has a roman stone arch bridge, an 1829 church, and a homestead built by a War of 1812 veteran - this landscape was very influential on Ryan's career aspirations. After obtaining a degree in Engineering Science (structural major, geotechnical minor) he spent a few years working in the geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials engineering field. Joining the team at VALLEE over 20 years ago, he has been able to achieve significant career goals from a wonderful small hometown base. Ryan is the managing director of the Structural Department at VALLEE, which consists of a Bridge Division and a Building Division. The majority of the Bridge Division work focusses on bridge inspection for asset management purposes and the rehabilitation of existing structures, as well as replacements, repairs, etc. The Buildings Division supports the Architectural Department at VALLEE which is active in institutional (ie: churches, schools, Fire/EMS, dental), commercial (retail, restaurant, office), industrial (manufacturing, food processing), and residential (single family homes, townhouses, condominiums, apartments). This wide variety of projects has provided plenty of opportunities to build a significant portfolio of heritage bridge and building projects. In recent years, Ryan has focused the majority of his time on heritage bridge and building projects.
