Mike Sawchuck

Biography Mike Sawchuck is a Senior Planner at the Town of Ajax and is responsible for the Town’s heritage portfolio. His work includes preparing and administering planning policy, undertaking planning studies, processing development applications, managing protected heritage properties/districts and acting as a liaison to the Town’s Heritage Advisory Committee. Mike has a sound understanding of the legal, regulatory and policy framework for heritage planning in Ontario and specializes in the evaluation of built heritage resources and the relationship between conservation and civic engagement. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees in urban planning from the University of Waterloo, experience working in the private and public sector (federal, provincial and municipal levels), and has been a CAHP member since 2005.
