Biography Lindsay Benjamin has extensive experience in cultural heritage conservation gained through work in private, academic and government organizations. She is practiced at providing professional planning recommendations and expertise on complex studies, research projects, and cultural heritage impact assessments. She was a Cultural Heritage Planner for the Region of Waterloo and now works for a cultural heritage consulting firm. Lindsay was the Primary Author of Arch, Truss and Beam: The Grand River Watershed Heritage Bridge Inventory, served as a Team Lead on the MTCS Historic Places Initiative, and was Series Editor for Phase 2 of “Heritage Districts Work!” a study of 32 heritage districts in Ontario. She has developed heritage property tax relief programs, a Cultural Heritage Landscape Inventory, Heritage Conservation District Study, Strategic Conservation Plans, worked on Municipal Heritage Registers, and drafted designation by-laws in several municipalities. She is practiced at the preparation of Cultural Heritage Reports: Existing Conditions and Preliminary Impact Assessments, Cultural Heritage Evaluation Reports, and Heritage Impact Assessments. She holds a Master of Applied Environmental Studies degree from the UW School of Planning and is a Registered Professional Planner (OPPI).
