Resumé
Biography John Dam, a registered professional engineer, has practiced in the conservation of historic buildings and structures for over 20 years. To meet the challenges of preserving our built heritage, John utilizes his experience in building envelope theory, structural design, and material science while promoting good conservation methods and remaining mindful of the demands of construction economics. Holding a Master of Science in the Conservation of Historic Buildings from the University of Bath, John started his firm John Dam & Associates in 2012 to bring the unique perspective of consulting engineering to the field of built heritage. Based in Victoria, B.C., JDA works with owners and property managers, architects, developers and contractors to conserve our built heritage through the provision of condition assessments, statements of significance and conservation plans, construction documents (drawings & specifications) and project management services.
