Biography More than a decade of experience in planning through research and development. Involved in a wide range of activities with extensive real-life experience as a professional planner. Extensive, nuanced knowledge of the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, Growth Plan, Official Plan, Environmental Assessment Act, Municipal Act, Ontario Heritage Act, and others. Frequently addressing matters including Site Plan approvals, Official Plan or Zoning amendments, Minor Variances, Ontario Land Tribunal issues, and consent applications. Reviewing and commenting on the Official Plan Amendments including drafting and updating Secondary Plans. Involved in negotiating and establishing Heritage Easement Agreements and Section 37 agreements to preserve heritage resources in new developments. Developing, project charter and project managing the City’s first Archaeological Management Plan. This includes managing a substantial Indigenous engagement component with multiple First Nations. Providing input into various transit planning initiatives including Hurontario Street LRT, Queen Street BRT. Supporting development of Major Transit Station Areas (MTSAs) land use planning including providing input for the incorporation of heritage matters. Participating in several major City projects such as Riverwalk/Downtown Flood Protection, Downtown Transit Hub, and Integrated Downtown Plan and providing direct input to a wide range of Provincial and Regional planning projects.
