Resumé
Biography George Baird has been keenly interested for his entire professional career in the urban role played by heritage buildings in cities across Canada. This interest has stretched from classical heritage buildings, such as St. Johns Church, in Stamford (Niagara Falls, Ontario) _ a building of national heritage significance from the early nineteenth century - through to such modernist buildings as the 1954 city hall for Edmonton, and the 1958 city hall for Toronto. His professional projects, his writings and his public advocacy have all been important to the protection of heritage sites across Canada.
