Resumé

Biography Don has worked in Vancouver, the Maritimes and Toronto and specializes in restoration and re-use of heritage and post-industrial structures including mercantile and residential projects in Chatham, Sussex, and Saint John N.B. With the Toronto Harbour Commission, Don was responsible for the Pier 6 project. Don was also responsible for the John Street Roundhouse Heritage Strategy and Industrial Restoration, Toronto. Don has specialized in architecture and heritage planning across Canada. He received a Heritage Award for the restoration of 72 Duke Street, Saint John and recently completed the Peel Heritage Centre, Highest and Best Use Study. In Toronto Don was responsible for the THC study, Heritage of the Port Industrial District, Allan Gardens Revitalization Study, the John Street Roundhouse Phased Re-use and Rehabilitation Strategy and restoration of the Roundhouse Bays 12-32. Don and co-authour. Leslie Valpy have had their book, " Modest Hopes, Homes and Stories of Toronto's Workers from the 1820's to the 1920's" publishec by Dundurn Press and have lectured and led a number of tours of Modest Hopes in the Corktown area.
