Resumé

Biography My career in the heritage field began ironically as a labourer on a new-build tract home development. I had taken a summer job on a masonry crew while studying at Queen's. I worked closely with second and third generation masons whose passion and commitment to their craft helped to reframe my understanding of skilled trades and professionalism. In the years that followed, I completed the Heritage Masonry program at Algonquin College, and then joined RJW Stonemasons in Ottawa, as an apprentice on some of Canada's most notable heritage buildings. In 2010 I returned to Kingston and formed Edgewater Stonemasons, a firm specializing in heritage masonry. Made up of a small group of dedicated professionals, Edgewater is focussed on re-establishing high levels of craftsmanship through a commitment to best practices, and the use of traditional methods and materials.
