Biography Aaron Murnaghan is the Principal Planner for Heritage, and Heritage Officer for Halifax Regional Municipality. In this role, Aaron oversees the municipal heritage property program including the identification and protection of heritage properties, the creation of heritage conservation districts, and the issuance of conservation grants. Before joining HRM, Aaron spent several years working as a consulting planner and project manager with several private firms in Halifax, and ran his own small consultancy for a time. Aaron's interest and expertise in heritage stems from many years working with Parks Canada and the Nova Scotia Museum system and a degree in history from the University of Kings College. He spends a significant amount of his personal time researching and volunteering in heritage-related pursuits.
