Wilson Weat has worked in the heritage/culture sector for over thirty years. His background is diverse with experience as a historian, archaeologist, curator, researcher, policy advisor and heritage preservation consultant. These positions were held within many levels of government and in the private sector. This work included research conducted in library, archival, and web-based venues, and policy advice and expertise to ministry offices, stakeholders and other preservation groups concerning the development and implementation of regulations and guidelines for the protection and preservation of Ontario's marine heritage resources. He also has extensive experience researching, writing and editing cultural heritage resource assessments required for compliance with the Ontario Heritage Act and the Standards & Guidelines for Conservation of Provincial Heritage Properties, including, but not limited to, Heritage Impact Assessment, Cultural Heritage Evaluation Reports and Strategic Conservation Plans.
