Vanessa Mathews PhD. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Regina. She has developed and regularly teaches courses in the fields of urban heritage and urban planning. Her expertise includes heritage development, heritage and place identity, and heritage commodification. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Toronto, an MA in Geography from York University, and a BA Honours from Queen's. She has published numerous academic articles on the relationship between post-industrial landscapes, heritage, and urban change.
