Sharon Vattay has extensive research, writing, lecturing, and curatorial experience in the field of Canadian architectural history. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. from McMaster University, Hamilton. Academic and archival research has been undertaken for purposes of publication, public outreach, as well as for building restoration and heritage property assessments. Projects and archival assignments include research and analysis undertaken for various levels of government: for municipalities (Cultural Heritage Assessments for the purposes of Designation under the Ontario Heritage Act); for the Ontario Heritage Trust (Provincial Plaquing Program); for the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office (FHBRO); and for the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada (HSMBC). She serves as Provincial Representative for the Society for the Study of Architecture in Canada.
