Octavio Salcedo is a conservator specializing in architectural woodwork. After nearly twenty years as a finishing carpenter, hisextensive work experience includes the restoration and reproduction of deteriorated wood elements such as windows, doors, paneling, etc. He uses traditional methods, materials and applications for wood finishes. Major restoration and conservation works are: Victoria Hall, Ross House (Chancellor Day Hall), Maison Forget (McDonald Stewart Foundation), William Osler Library (McGill University), St. John the Evangelist Church presbytery, edifice Ernest Cormier (Palais de Justice), restoration of the Cormier furniture at the Court dappel de Montr_al and several other heritage buildings in Montreal. Recently, Octavio was awarded the Prix de lartisan, by the city for its Montr_al Architectural Heritage Campaign.
