Experience

My current expertise and heritage focus as Director of the Heritage Branch for the Province of British Columbia is on policy issues and strategic initiatives that support and strengthen heritage conservation in the Province. This involves providing advice to senior levels of government and forging relationships with other provincial government agencies, NGOs and other levels of government to reduce barriers and develop opportunities for heritage conservation. I work to facilitate new partnerships with government and non-government organizations on targeted policy areas such as green building, tourism, education, youth and aboriginal heritage. I also work with community partners on a variety of initiatives. Some of this focus is on building capacity with the managers of the provincial historic sites and some is providing advice and service to local governments to support development of community heritage programs.
